- Searched construction-project databases for projects where equipment might be used. Phoned engineers to verify equipment applicablity, to obtain job details, and to get trenchless methods "specd in" where possible. Obtained names of bidding contractors, low bidders, and winning bidders.
- Reviewed thousands of projects. Phone-investigated over 700 of them, and issued almost 300 to field sales as leads with project and contractor-contact detail.
- Assembled suspects numbering in thousands from Commercial Sources, Lost-Customer Archives, and other. Organized, investigated, and made phone contacts to find valid prospects in these raw lists.
- Issued valid prospects to field salespeople. Info issued often included competitive companies' offerings, amounts, and prices.
- Prospects issued per salesperson numbered from 42 to 138. Most new customers were found among these prospects.
- Assembled a customer database consisting of smaller accounts/prospects, and all accounts in 8 "open" states. Handled contacting, prospecting, sampling, quoting, follow-up, and closing in these.
- Pulled quoting and sampling info from the company order-handling system, and did phone follow-up on ones not promptly handled by field sales. Did cold-call prospecting for field sales.
- Created "from scratch" an account/prospect database of over 3,500 plant locations, with buying contacts in each. This database became a company-wide CRMS in Sept00.
- Identified accounts/prospects NOT actively pursued by Field Sales Engineers, and pursued these via telephone. Contacted Plant Engineers, Maintenance Managers, Buyers and others, for regular business AND for infrequent large projects rating Sales Engineer attention.
- Ran a call schedule that included 1,100-1,400 individuals, and generated 1-3 new quotes per day.
- Found projects that yielded these orders: $320k wet-wipe production system (SWS), $230k industrial water conditioning system (CTG), $145k chemical production module (PM), $450k special resin production equipment (CT), and many others.
