This position supports cost optimized development of new and existing control panel products by coordinating design for manufacturing activities with Suppliers, Danfoss Product Development, Manufacturing and Supply Chain. Also coordinates process improvement effort at suppliers for cost reduction and quality enhancement. May also interact with other Danfoss locations and applicable suppliers to further global purchasing strength. Participates in team evaluation of prospective suppliers. Activities involve analysis of internal needs, markets, and suppliers; strategy development/implementation; creating contracts/agreements; supplier evaluation/development; network building and development - both internally and externally, cross functionally and internationally and process optimization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
÷ Work with suppliers to improve processes and costs for existing components.
÷ Coordinate work between Engineering and suppliers for cost effective development of new components.
÷ Research, study and recommend new suppliers and components.
÷ Interact with other Danfoss locations to expand global purchasing opportunities.
÷ Work with Quality, Manufacturing and suppliers on problem solving and quality improvement.
÷ Perform evaluation visits at prospective and existing suppliers.
÷ Participate in negotiation of supplier purchase agreements.
÷ Participate on project teams as required.

The Focused Manufacturing Team Managers will be responsible for leading manufacturing operations for assigned business unit, to include team building, production management, training and development, purchasing, material control, quality, scheduling, safety, and product and process engineering.
The basic functions of these positions will be to manage, lead, and implement operational policies and programs that ensure achievement of operational and financial goals. The focus for short term goals will include on-time delivery, cost of sales, quality, safety, and gross margins. The focus for long term goals will include the formulation, planning and implementation of strategies to improve operational efficiency and business growth. Ensuring employee engagement and teamwork within, and outside of, these business units will be a key accountability for these positions as well.
The qualified candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, or related field with a minimum of 5-10 years progressively responsible operations experience, preferably managing a manufacturing facility or managing a manufacturing support department (i.e. Manufacturing Manager, General Manager, Plant Manager, etc.). Thorough knowledge of metal fabrication, welding, painting and assembly is preferred. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, and Profit & Loss accountability of manufacturing operations is required.

Position Summary:
Responsible for the development, maintenance and continuous improvement of all quality systems in the Milwaukee Manufacturing Plant, which include but are not limited to, ISO 9001 (latest revision). Use appropriate skills and tools to reduce the overall cost of quality.
KEY TASKS
· Act as both quality systems and quality control manager.
· Act as the Milwaukee plant quality management representative for quality systems auditors as well as for General Services Administration (GSA) Coordinator, when applicable.
· Ensure that the Milwaukee plant's quality system is properly and accurately documented to meet the requirements of all systems standards.
· Manage the Gage Calibration Government Inspection, when applicable.
· Make the final decision on whether or not units meet specifications and can be shipped to customer.
· Ensure that inspection, measuring and test equipment in the Milwaukee plant is controlled per the plantÂs policies/procedures.
· Develop and maintain the documented quality system. This includes, but is not limited to writing, reviewing, and updating quality policies, procedures, inspection instructions, and work instructions.
· Ensure that nonconforming product is detected and that proper disposition and corrective/preventative actions are taken to prevent recurrence of nonconformities
· Review/audit system performance and documentation to ensure compliance
· Develop/ implement and maintain methods of tracking quality performance in terms of scrap/rework and customer PPM. Identify main areas for improvement and drive projects or kaizen events to drive quality measures.
· Coordinate 2nd and 3rd party audits to review system(s)
· Aid in the selection of personnel/teams to perform quality related activities
· Supervise Gage Calibration including writing performance appraisals
· Review excessive amounts or large dollar values of units to be scrapped
· Maintain records for deviations, Supplier Rejections Notices (both external as well as inter-plant)
· Responsible for overseeing the control of quality control forms for the plant
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree, preferably in either Industrial Engineering or Business Management, and a minimum of eight (8) to ten (10) years experience in manufacturing and production operations.
- Minimum of five (5) years experience related to inspection techniques and procedures.
- Must have working knowledge of ISO or QS9000 quality systems.
- Must have the ability to read complex documents so as to be able to comprehend the intent of the document.
- Should have specialized training in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, ability to read and interpret blueprints, product standards (internal as well as external to Snap-on) and requirements, and statistical techniques.
- Must be able to communicate with peers and subordinates.
- Must have basic knowledge of production machines, tool & fixture design, and safe operating practices and procedures and basic understanding of mathematical principals.
- Ability to supervise medium-sized staff.
- Knowledge of safety of product being produced for the customer.
- Demonstrated experience with FMEA, Six Sigma, SPC and other quality or technical tools.
- Quality certification CQA preferred.
